CONTRACTORS WHO WANT A SAFETY CONSULTANTS HELP TO GET CHAS REGISTRATION If you were buying a new computer you wouldn’t just accept the first offer you saw, so why do it with health and safety advice? Take the same care when asking a consultant to do work for you, especially if you are a small contractor. You should know what services you need, obtain references from the consultant, ask for examples of their work and compare quotations with others. Buying an off-the-shelf policy with risk assessments written by someone who has not visited your site or offices should set alarm bells ringing. In ninety five per cent of cases small contractors involved in low risk work can act as their own "competent health and safety person" and write their own policy, organisation and arrangements. They should not need to pay for such services. For HSE guidance on competent advice click here PLEASE READ THE FAQ section before you send your question to us: If you have a question about the CHAS scheme please check in the "Contractor FAQ" section to see if it is answered there before you contact us. Enquiries from you that are already answered in this section place an unnecessary burden on our limited resources. We may not have the time to reply to questions already answered. Click here. "Succeed with CHAS" - If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!! CHAS has tried to purchase a copy of the advertised guide "Succeed with CHAS". Our payment was refunded without reason by "Succeed with CHAS". I have asked Mrs Turner, the writer, to contact me to discuss her product but she has declined to do so to date. CHAS does not endorse or support Mrs Turner or her product which is a breach of our copyright in any event. Replacement Accreditation Certificates Please keep your certificate safe!
If you misplace your CHAS Accreditation certificate or change your company name through companies house, there is a £20 + VAT administration charge for us to supply you with a replacement.
Why do I need a D-U-N-S number and how do I get one? A D-U-N-S number provides the unique identifier that enables databases to be linked. For example, a Constructionline buyer interrogating a long list of contractors in which you are listed will be able to move direct to your CHAS registration details.
To check whether you already registed with them visit the URL below and submit a request for your D-U-N-S number. If you are not registered with them you will need to do so. Do not allow the request for your number to delay submitting your appllication to us. Tell us when you have got it and we will update our database.
