CHAS is moving to annual assessments
From the summer of 2012 CHAS, like the majority of other health and safety pre-qualification schemes, will move to an annual assessment cycle.

CHAS Accreditation
Accreditation is ONLY available for contractors or consultants who have been assessed as CHAS Compliant within the last 9 months.
- The service costs £60 plus vat (In addition to the assessment fee
- The Accreditation Certificate is valid for 12 months from the date you were last assessed as compliant
- In order to maintain accreditation you will need to re-apply for a full-assessment and an accreditation pack on a yearly basis.
A CHAS compliant supplier meets acceptable standards of health and safety.

Accreditation goes beyond compliance. Accreditation provides:

Licensed use of our logos on your stationery and livery;

Certificate of Accreditation;

Verification of CHAS registration and history to non-CHAS buyers, potential clients and insurers;

Exemption from completing the Constructionline and other scheme H&S Questionnaires;

Access to information about your company on the CHAS database including CHAS status, registration details and assessment history;

Facility to view which CHAS buyers have viewed your details;

The potential for discounted public liability insurances and other insurances (see below).

Accreditation can take between 7 to 10 working days to administer and is valid for 12 months from the date you last achieved
CHAS compliance (24 months for designers and CDM-Cs). If you then wish to renew your accreditation, you will need to reapply for a full-assessment and an accreditation pack on a yearly basis.
Reduced Insurance Premiums
Accredited contractors and consultants who achieve annual compliance through
our scheme may be offered reduced liability (and other) insurance quotes
as long as they maintain
accreditation. We will write to accredited companies to advise them of this offer
shortly after accreditation. More details>>
